Description:

• The Technician or Analyst will be involved in every aspect of operation of the Analytical Services Group including but not limited to sample preparation, sample analysis, method development, data quality review and reporting, maintaining instrumentation, etc.
• Major responsibilities will include the preparation and analysis of a variety of samples and matrices such as minerals, organic based matrices, environmental and industrial hygiene samples, etc. using wet chemistry and instrumental techniques.
• The Analytical Services Group consists of the chemistry labs (inorganic and organic) and X-ray diffraction analysis labs. The Technician or Analyst could work in any of these labs either in a rotating or concurrent basis based on qualifications and lab needs. Candidates with no previous lab experience will start at the Technician level working mainly with sample preparation .

Qualifications and Requirements:

•Degree in Chemistry or related field

•Experience with wet chemistry, digestion/decomposition, and sample extraction techniques (acid/base digestions, fusions, microwave digestions, solvent extractions, etc.)

•Experience with EPA, OSHA, NIOSH, ASTM, USP/NF, FCC preparation and analysis method and protocols

•The position could require working after normal business hours (8am to 4:30-5pm)
