Overview
Join a dynamic team and play an integral role in Mission Systems BD & Strategy Operations driving the efficiency and accountability for the Business Development & Program Management organizations. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to being the BD Operations lead go-to person on driving proposals, accurately capturing current status of proposal activity, tracking key business development operating KPIs proactively following up on open new business opportunities, and supporting key BD operations continuous improvement initiatives including the application of customer relationship management (CRM) tools and improved BD operations processes. The role will also provide support to the BD Operations lead on strategic planning activities in support of the annual and long-range strategic planning. We are looking for a strong team member capable of independently leading BD operating activities, proactively engaging with internal stakeholders and external customers, and leads by example and keeps the team informed of changes. This position requires professionalism, friendliness, and the willingness to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage core BD operations activities including driving coordination between business development and program management in line with adherence to existing BD processes.
- Track and publish core KPIs for BD operations for review with senior management.
- Ownership, responsibility in managing a pipeline (all opportunities associated with a given customer) and a forecast (opportunities that are actually in forecast).
- Clearly and effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Coordinate with proposal development team to ensure all estimating elements are identified and addressed in the plan.
- Oversee the assembly, review and incorporation of the inputs from the functional organizations.
- Monitor proposal development schedule progress to achieve on time and accurate delivery success.
- Partner with the Capture & Proposal team and other functional leads, including Engineering and Operations, to drive efficiency through the business capture cycle.
- Partner with the Missions Systems BD operations lead to identify, design, and implement BD process improvement initiatives.
- Track quotes and proposals through the proposal life cycle; from the initial request to the review and approval of the Purchase Order, Quote, or Proposal.
- Analyze requests for Information, requests for quotes, and requests for proposals to establish and execute a compliant proposal.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Proposal Team.
- Coordinate team inputs to ensure administrative tasks are completed expeditiously, and the proposal effort can be launched and completed.
- Provide consistent support and maintenance of data quality and integrity for all systems and ancillary reporting processes - including SalesForce.com, Content Management, Visual, Excel outputs, etc.
- Provide support to the Business Development & Program Management Team with regard to accurately capturing current status of proposal activity, proactively following up on open opportunities, and supporting sales initiatives month over month.
- Actively participate in Department and Company-wide process-improvement efforts.

Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor's Degree and 8-10 years of experience in relevant customer service environment
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
Preferred:
- Master's Degree and 5-7 years' experience in relevant customer service environment
- Experience in the aerospace and defense industry
- 2 years' experience with SalesForce or other CRM system
- Experience working with government contracts
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in an environment, focused on continuous improvement
- Experience in demand-driven business process execution
