Sales Representative

Job Summary:

Primarily responsible for ensuring that our customers receive the best service possible through processing of orders, general correspondence regarding orders and/or products and services offered by our company. Coordinate with other functions/departments such as operations, sales, production, engineering and/or shipping to respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities:

•  Respond to customer inquiries with written quotations of various products and components.
•  Added focus on current and new opportunities in the USA market.
•  Ability to review orders for accuracy.
•  Ability to coordinate domestic and international shipping.
• Conduct sales calls in conjunction with department manager and outside sales.
• Prepare and submit price quotations for customers.
• Obtain and log customer feedback and appropriate personnel.
• Be responsible for the follow up on sales orders within to ensure they are on track; make corrections as needed.
• Expedite and process “hot” orders to ensure they are completed on time and according to the date agreed by the Customer.
• Be responsible for notifying the customers when deliveries are moved beyond the original promised date.
• Be a liaison with QC, Assembly, and the Warehouse to ensure materials and/or components are delivered in the correct sequence; prevent orders from being late and/or out of the priority sequence as previously established by planning.
• Be responsible for communicating with the purchasing department on order status.
•  Interact with vendors on parts pricing and lead times.
• Provide routine customer updates on parts sales.
• Perform other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing results as needed.
• Participate in Premium Safety and Quality programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
• Must be able to follow instructions precisely.
• Need to maintain good hygiene and dress professionally.
• Must maintain a clean and organized workspace and clean up after yourself.
• Must be able to be on call in weekly rotation, answer customer calls 24-hours a day, workdays, nights, and weekends when necessary.

Experience / Education Requirements:

• A High School diploma, or equivalent, associate degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in oil and gas – preferred experience in Top Drive assembly.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience of outside parts sales.
• Having a current customer base in the region is a huge plus!  
• Having experience with mud pumps, centrifugal pumps, top drives, shakers, iron roughnecks, gate valves, pressure testing, or any experience on drilling rigs is a huge plus.
• Experience planning and expediting in a parts sale’s environment.
• Experience in data entry.
• Excellent communications skills, display attention to detail, and capacity planning.
• Experience with customer interaction.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet.
• Must have the ability to multi-task the activities with shifting priorities.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
• Must pass pre-hire and random drug and alcohol testing.
• Must pass background check and have clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle/feel objects; and reach with hands and arms.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may also have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs multiple times per day.
