Sales Representative uses proven sales and marketing tools and techniques to achieve sales goals in assigned accounts. The Sales Representative develops and maintains a positive Company image by ensuring excellent customer relations.
The following Duties & Responsibilities are representative of those required by this position and are not meant to be all inclusive:
- Work with select suppliers on executing their market objectives
- Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work fairs and festivals on some nights and weekends
- Maintains accurate Front Line and Promoted Price to Consumers.
- Achieves Company goals on distribution of products/packages by selling all assigned products/packages into assigned accounts, and communicating information to customers on new products/packages when necessary for roll out of new products or new packages.
- Clearly communicates with the drivers and merchandisers on display locations, special deliveries, expectations, POS management and pricing.
- Schedules and executes promotions to sample consumers with SPIM Products.
- Monitor and execute VED Rotation Policy criteria at all accounts. Should “out of code” product be identified, immediately pull from consumer sales area.
- Continually strives to achieve VED shelf space standards i.e. (1) dominant selling position in shelf space (warm and cold box) and space to sales (DOS) allocations.
- Develop and maintain a complete working knowledge of all assigned brands.
- Sell in permanent, temporary, and promotional secondary displays
- Adhere to and enforce all applicable VED and VABC policies and standards.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Must have high school diploma or GED. Preference is a Bachelor’s degree in business related field.
- Must have the ability to safely drive various vehicles. Must have a valid Virginia Driver’s License with a safe driving record. Must maintain insurability to operate a motor vehicle. Preference is ability to safely drive a commercial motor vehicle.
- Must be able to lift and carry, including overhead lifting, 15-40 pounds or more on a repetitive basis during a 10 to 15 hour day with frequent bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling and sitting.
- Must be able to unload package beer from vehicle to account.
- Must have the ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather and/or temperature conditions.
- Must have the ability to communicate, utilizing the English language in verbal and written form.
- Must be able to use basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to balance all monetary transactions as necessary.
- Basic computer skills.
