Sales Representative:
Asphalt Solutions operates in a team environment, collaboration and guidance will be available from various staff members, however, the Sales Representative will be expected to operate independently in several important key roles requiring work productivity, quality and accuracy. The Sales Representative will seek training guidance and submit work for review to the President.
The essential duties and responsibilities are listed below. Other duties may be assigned:
- Bid/sell work
- Maintain company gross profit goals and ensure work profitability
- Manage customer base
- Work with staff to help support customer communication
- Network with existing, new or potential customers
- Develop new client relationships
- Identify new opportunities and to manage the sales cycle
- Reconnecting with existing or past clients and grow them
- On site visits review to measure and analysis for quotation
- Prepare and present quotations
Qualifications and requirements:
- Possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Maintain organized and efficient work habits to maximize workflow and production
- Able to perform daily/weekly work tasks with minimal supervision
- Possess strong time management skills
- Ability to critically access technical problems in the most economical way possible. Furthermore, a strong technical knowledge of site related construction work is a must
- Able to effectively use computer software programs such as Microsoft office. Use of estimating and management software will be taught
- Must have strong math skills
Tasks:
- Meet with new/existing customers on site to develop scope of work for bid
- Measure work and log field notes as necessary for proper bid estimate
- Map work as necessary for use in bid and for use by field personnel
- Estimate work and write bids for presentation to customer
- Perform purchasing of work after award of contract (buy down jobs to increase profitability)
- Complete action commands to accounting, scheduling, change order and ready to invoice
- Send job file to owner for scheduling set up so one person manages the schedule board, outlook calendar and Procru reminders. Notify owner of any schedule delays and changes
- Oversight of work performed complete daily work in progress reports by the following noon
- Future business development consisting of cold calls, introductory meetings, sponsored breaks, client lunches/dinners and general prospective and existing customer entertainment.
Knowledge/Experience:
- 5 years of sales experience
- General construction materials and methods
- Mathematical skills
- Computer skills
