Job description

Sparks Belting is a conveyor belting fabricator that has been providing custom technical solutions for our customers for over 75 years. We are actively looking for a Sales Candidate with Belting experience. Please review the description and apply to join our team!

JOB SUMMARY

This position is an entry level sales position transitioning to a Direct Sales Representative position once all training objectives have been met. The Sales Associate will be trained in customer relations, order processing, sales operations, customer service, installation support, installation scheduling, Level 5 Selling, territory management, and pipeline management. This position will be accountable for staying abreast of current market conditions and industry trends to acquire new sales and add to the current customer base.

TOOLSAND EQUIPMENT NEEDED

Automobile accompanied by a valid driver’s license, cell phone.

DIRECTION EXERCISED

This position supervises no other.

RESPONSIBILITIESAND DUTIES

  • Meet and exceed all assigned Key Performance Indicators as designed by the General Manager.
  • Utilize and implement formal sales process as outlined by General Manager.
  • Responsible for direct pipeline, territory, and call plan management
  • Make continuous sales contacts including soliciting business from existing customers and developing new business opportunities.
  • Consistently contact and meet with customers to develop customer relationships, increase sales, and meet established sales revenue goals. This will entail making daily in person and telephone calls, following up on unqualified leads, properly preparing for new account development, and target market development.
  • Evaluate product and service marketability in terms of customers’ technical and manufacturing needs. Perform plant wide surveys to further determine customers' belting needs. Provide documented cost savings opportunities to existing and new customers.
  • Answer customer requests for service and ensure the timely completion of all requested services.
  • Perform necessary reporting. This will include formulating travel itinerary/sales call plan, and generating customer correspondence through price quotations, plant survey reports, and call follow-up letters. Expense reporting will also be necessary.
  • Determine market strategies & goals for each product and service by researching and developing lists of potential customers. This will also include annually developing a listing of target accounts with written plan of action for all products and services.
  • Evaluate, document and report customer satisfaction with products and services. Resolve problems with products and services to ensure continued satisfaction of customers.
  • Research customer needs by making specific application recommendations and by problem solving to satisfy customer’s current and future application needs.
  • Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. This position description is intended to guide the activities of the incumbent and their manager. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Requires excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, strong critical thinking skills and the ability to communicate at all levels within an organization. Basic math skills and the ability to acquire and retain extensive product knowledge are required. Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and can work under minimal supervision.

MINIMUM TRAINING ANDEXPERIENCE

· Required formal education: Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Business or related field, or equivalent training or experience.

· This is an entry level sales position, prefer college graduates, or Sales Representatives with 1-2 year or less of formal sales experience.

· Completion of Sales Associate training – 6 to 9 months

· Able to maneuver in small, confined spaces.
