Job Summary:
The Sales Manager - Event Design serves as the main contact for Design Studio clients, promoting and selling Design Studio services tailored to individual events. This role involves creating event proposals, pricing strategies, addressing client issues, and coordinating with various departments to ensure successful event execution. Responsible for conceptualizing, planning and designing events that meet client’s requirements and expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate and engage with clients to understand their event needs and preferences.
- Develop event proposals that align with client requirements while maintaining cost margins and maximizing profitability.
- Develop event concepts, themes and layouts that align with client expectations.
- Create mood boards.
- Source and manage event décor, furniture and other design elements.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and services with clients and vendors.
- Obtain necessary documentation and payments from clients.
- Coordinate event logistics including load in/out schedules, vendor arrangements, and set up.
- Collaborate with departments such as A/V Conference Services, Audio Visual, and Floral Design to ensure event success.
- Assist in selecting and sourcing design elements for events.
- Stay updated on industry trends and continually seek sources of inspiration.
- Provide financial projections, contribute to budget preparation, and attend management meetings.
- Oversee administrative assistant duties related to event planning.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in events or design-related industries.
- Proven experience in Event Design
- Strong creative and conceptual design skills
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in financial projections and budget preparation.
- Knowledge of Event Design trends and industry standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively and coordinate with multiple teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
