Sales Director

As a Sales Director for the South region, you will drive the sales performance of Marketing & Sales, Electrification Services (ELSE) specifying and implementing effective sales and business development initiatives in line with global strategy. You will be responsible for leading the south sales team to deliver sustainable profitable orders growth. This person will focus on working with his/her team on promoting high value service solutions with an emphasis on Advisory Services, Retrofits / Upgrade solutions and after market parts. While this position is fully remote, qualified candidates should be located in a major metro area in the Southern United States.

Your responsibilities
- To lead and develop solution sales activities for and demand of service solutions through both direct end customer interactions as well as through channels
- Lead cadence with BDMs (Business Development Managers) weekly to drive service pursuits and progress in the funnel
- Develop BDM domain expertise in targeted service solutions
- Closely interact with ComOps & Application Engineering Leader to ensure tight coordination on customer and application focus
- Collaborate with the South Region Operations Leader to drive strategy alignment between field operations and commercial team
- Manage sales activities with emphasis on strategic profitable growth and predictable forecasting
- Develop the Services sales and marketing plans in line with the LBU (Local Business Unit) and global strategic plans
- Lead activities on Services sales team for maintaining and expanding customer relationships, ensuring customer loyalty through excellent customer service as well as meeting all client needs appropriate to their business
- Meet or exceed assigned sales budget in targeted Services business segment
- Negotiating and making offers in accordance with company procedures
- Interface with large End User accounts to ensure consistent global support at a local area with emphasis on DtC and Utility as well as high density installed base customers
- Drive sales activates and account plans through SFDC(salesforce.com)
- Stay tuned with industry trends, market dynamics and competitive land scape. Identify emerging opportunities, threats and potential partnerships that can enhance our position
- Support Product Management & Marketing teams with specific value propositions from each of the application sales teams
- Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations
Your background
- Bachelor degree (Electrical Engineering preferred) and minimum 12 years of relevant experience working as sales/ business development with Electrical Power Delivery Infrastructure preferred. Candidates with commensurate experience and education will also be considered.
- Prior experience managing and developing a sales team required.
- Travel up to 35 percent required
- Sound knowledge of Industrial Users including an understanding of customer needs and decision making processes
- Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft office platform and SFDC
- Proven track record in exceeding sales targets in competitive markets
- Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to close high value deals
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
