The compensation for this role is a combination of base + commission. The base is $45,000 and at quota, you should be at $75,000-90,000 annually.
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced, well-spoken Sales Development Representative to expand our customer base by driving new business opportunities in a fast-paced environment. The most successful team members in this role have excellent communication, strong interpersonal and customer service skills along with demonstrating the ability to meet deadlines.
This is the perfect role for a seasoned Sales professional who has been a road warrior and would like to make a great living without the travel requirements.
How You'll Make an Impact
The Sales Development Representative's responsibilities include generating leads, soliciting potential customers, responding to web and trade show leads, developing growth strategies by region, conducting market research, collaborating with the outside sales managers to fully support the team, completing quotes, and managing the sales database based on weekly call objectives.
What You Need to Succeed
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
- Minimum of 2+ years sales experience
- Strong phone and verbal communication skills, including active listening skills
- Strong interpersonal, teamworking, and customer service skills
- Sales-related computer skills (MS Office Suite, especially Excel)
- Good time management and analytical skills
Desired Critical Skills:
- Previous sales production of up to and including $3M annually
- Proven track record achieving annual sales quotas
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively
- Experience selling to either government agencies or industrial customers
- Proven skills in planning, executing, and following-through on leads and cold-calling
- Extensive experience documenting sales activities within an internal tracking database program
- Successful completion of coursework in sales techniques, marketing, and communication may be advantageous.
