Sales Associate/Budtender

Cal Verde Naturals is a locally woman-owned and operated cannabis adult-use only retailer (no medical) looking for friendly and outgoing Sales Associate/Budtenders to grow with us and join our team at our first store, located in Belmont, MA! We are hiring experienced cannabis retail Sales Associate/Budtender positions.

Job Description

Cal Verde is dedicated to sharing our passion for cannabis with all customers - from seasoned enthusiasts to the brand new "canna-curious" - by delivering an excellent in-store experience to all. The primary role of a Sales Associate is to coordinate and facilitate sales to customers based on their individual needs and sustain a high level of hospitality and customer service. They will assist customers through the process of understanding, selecting and purchasing cannabis products including but not limited to; flower, concentrates, edibles, topicals, specialty products, and devices for various forms of consumption. The Sales Associate will arrange and package customer orders, record sales in the POS system, and handle cash and debit card transactions. Sales Associates are a key part of the customer experience and are friendly, knowledgeable, and compassionate.

Job Responsibilities and Functions

• Advise customers on suitable cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains of cannabis.
• Keep abreast of new cannabis products on the market and the latest industry trends.
• Accurately enter all sales information into the POS system to ensure customer receives the correct product and inventory remains accurate, and payments are processed appropriately with proper cash and debit handling
• Maintain thorough product knowledge through participation in internal training programs to answer concerns and/or questions promptly and efficiently, referring to the store management team when appropriate.
• Ensure that the dispensary is clean and well-organized at all times.
• Educate customers on the safe use of their selected cannabis products.
• Maintain and execute all inventory practices as they are assigned. Follow all inventory protocols to ensure accuracy and accountability.
• Verifying customers' identification documents to verify that they are of legal age.
• Attend required trainings to build knowledge about cannabis products and compliance
• Inspire brand loyalty and long-term customer relationships and communicate ideas for strengthening that relationship with management team
• Support the management team in opening & closing procedures as necessary
• Stay up to date on company Standard Operating Procedures.

Qualification and Requirements

• At least one year previous cannabis retail experience required
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Excellent communication and customer skills
• Must be able to communicate effectively with customers/caregivers and team members.
• Must be able to properly handle cash and debit cards during transactions, ensuring correct payment amounts and correct change
• Ability to meet physical demands of the position including frequent sitting/standing/moving throughout the duration of shifts and lifting packages up to 50lbs.
• Must be 21 years or older
• Must be able to submit to a background check
• Outgoing and friendly with an enthusiasm and passion for cannabis
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Must be able to pass the necessary steps to obtain a Registered Agent Card issued by the MA Cannabis Control Commission

Employees may perform other duties and tasks as assigned, and other related duties as needed to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
