About This Position
Sales Assistants are here to assist the sales staff. It is a front-line job that deals directly with the customers. It is a high-pressure job with a fast pace during most of the day.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Take incoming phone calls that pertain to making, tracing, or checking on an order.
- Make calls to customers and take calls from customers when a salesperson is on another line or out of the office.
- Assist the sales staff in processing and completing orders during peak periods.
- Assist the sales staff with the processing of journal vouchers, faxed in orders, mailed in orders, tracing of orders and proof of delivery of orders when needed.
- Other duties as determined by the needs of the business.
What You'll Need
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to type at least 50 wpm
- Familiarity with 10-key calculator
- Good interpersonal skills and communicate effectively with others
- Ablility to work on more than one job/project at a time
