ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop Virtual Sales Training Programs and Materials: Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive virtual sales training programs tailored to enhance the travel sales skills of our team members
- Conduct Engaging Virtual Training Sessions: Deliver interactive and engaging virtual training sessions to sales professionals
- Talent Assessment: Assess the skills and competencies of Travel Counselors
- Individual Coaching: Provide one-on-one coaching sessions to travel counselors in sales techniques and sales efficacy
- Product and Destination Knowledge: Equip Travel Counselors with comprehensive knowledge and stay abreast of various travel products, services, and destinations, with a focus on virtual offerings
- System Training: Develop and deliver training modules to introduce, enhance, or update systems that impact sales processes
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with various stakeholders, including sales managers, sales professionals, travel vendors, and other training specialists, to gather insights and align training initiatives with business objectives
- Train sales professionals on effectively collaborating with travel vendors to obtain accurate information and update client travel files
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Proven track record in travel sales, preferably in a high-volume sales environment, including virtual sales experience.
- Experience in training and development, preferably within the travel industry, with a focus on virtual sales training and vendor collaboration.
- Excellent knowledge of sales techniques, customer relationship management, and working with travel vendors.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and coaching skills, with expertise in conducting virtual training sessions.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities for virtual interactions.
- Ability to assess talent, identify strengths, and create personalized development plans for sales success.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, with a strong focus on virtual sales.
- Continuously stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to virtual travel sales, vendor collaboration, and training methodologies. Incorporate new ideas and innovative approaches into the virtual sales training programs to enhance learning outcomes in a virtual environment and optimize vendor partnerships.
- Proficiency in using virtual training technologies, platforms, and tools.
- Familiarity with travel booking systems and industry-related software, particularly in the context of virtual sales.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
EDUCATION, COMPETENCIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED plus 4 years of sales, training, call center or travel experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus an additional 2 years of experience in travel, accounting or finance
WORKING ENVIRONMENT / MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Works in an office environment sitting at a desk, table or computer workstation for extended periods of time. Requires bending and lifting (up to 15 pounds). Approximately 70% of the time spent on the job involves the use of a personal computer. 25% of the time providing training - either at a workstation or standing for extended periods of time.
