Operates and maintains the Gas Detection Systems and Breathing Air Safety Equipment based drilling rig or production sites where various work is being performed where there is a potential for or an anticipated release of H2S.
Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Rigging up/Rigging Down Gas Detection Systems, Monitoring Breathing Air Systems, On-Site Safety Supervision
- Completes Daily JSA, Sign In Sheets, Field Tickets, time sheets and all Ampro and Customer documentation associated with assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
- Calibrates gas detection equipment; Complete daily, weekly and monthly checks on equipment
- Must be able to work safely and follow all Company and Customer policies and procedures
- Ensures that all Cascade Air Banks are charged and online. Ensures that all 5, 10 and/or 30 minutes SCBA's are functional and fully charged.
- May assist with inspection, cleaning, servicing, reassembling and testing shop equipment, SCBA's, manifolds, regulators, hoses and other safety equipment.
- May stock shelves with clean, tested and ready to use equipment and pull, stage, and load equipment for jobs.
- Must maintains work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Works continually to keep equipment clean and respiration masks sanitized.
- Maintains running inventory of location and availability of safety equipment.
- Performs basic maintenance and care of assigned vehicle and/or trailer.
- Assist others as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Minimum 1 year experience as an H2S technician.
Certifications and Training:
- H2S Certification,
- SAFE GULF or SAFE LAND
- First aid training preferred.
- Must have a Valid License and Clean Driving Record and be an acceptable drive by our insurance provider
