Position Description: QPS Employment Group is hiring a Safety Manager who will sit at the West Allis, WI office. The Safety Manager will be responsible for helping create materials to develop the field and maintain compliance. You will work closely with our clients, Branch and vendors to continue to influence how sales and operations does their work to create the best possible outcome. You will meet with top level customers and put together business review materials showcasing safety/injury data etc.This is a permanent full-time, internal opportunity with QPS. Working hours will be Monday - Friday, 1st shift, and must be flexible to work 40-45 hours a week, coming in early or staying late if needed. By empowering all voices, we develop ideas and solutions that create a positive experience for all involved.Job ResponsibilitiesReview injury analyses and discuss with branch staff, working to identify internal and external modifications necessary to prevent future incidentsAssist in the development and administration of new hire training and all other employee training initiatives as they relate to safety and riskProvide ongoing coaching and guidance for QPS internal staff on workplace safety related functions such as proper job hazard analysis, injury investigations, job descriptions and other QPS Safety Program requirementsProvide direction to branch staffs in market regarding solutions, orientations, and risk management plans specific to their marketEvaluate training materials and temporary associate orientations, making adjustments as neededAttend meetings and seminars to obtain information for use in training programs, or to inform management of training program statusConduct site evaluations at high frequency/high risk QPS client locations and develop client-specific risk management programs based upon findingsDevelop & maintain relationships with risk management, safety, and/or training personnel within key QPS customer accountsWork with sales and operations team early in sales process for higher risk or higher potential prospective clients to assist in identifying safety hazards, additional training needs, orientation/screening development, and client on-boardingCollaborate with QPS Training Department to infuse safety issues and culture into initial and ongoing training of internal QPS employeesIdentify areas of improvement at branch locations and coordinate with QPS Training Department to provide necessary trainingProvide ongoing training to operations field staff regarding associate employee interactions, communication, orientation administration, and placement decisionsMake risk mitigation recommendations as needed for clients, operations, sales, leadership, etc.Respond to and manage all OSHA and other regulatory inquiries into safety issues at QPS branch offices and customer locationsAssist in developing and providing safety program information as needed to Workers Compensation, Human Resources, Insurance Agents, etc.Develop goals and actions to correct negative trends and maintain positive trendsManage the work and performance of the Safety Specialist(s), Safety Consultant(s), and Administrative Assistant(s) - SafetyMeet with sales and operations leadership teams regularly to provide and receive feedback regarding issues relevant to their specific markets and clients as well as ongoing coaching issues with internal employeesReview and monitor trends in individual branch offices, clients, industries with regard to frequency and severity of injuries and accidentsEnsure accurate assignment of workers compensation classification codesAct as a technical resource for safety related questions and concerns for all QPS field employeesEmploy high levels of integrityHandle a fast pace environment and multitaskingOperate with professional and confidential mannerismUtilize effective time managementWrite reports, policies and business correspondenceAbility to interpret, comprehend and apply legal principles and concepts Requirements:Bachelors in Environmental Safety and Health preferredHigh school diploma or GED required 3 5 years of related experience 5- years Management experience preferredKnowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteProvides a high level of customer serviceMaintains professional confidentialityLeads and directs full time safety consulting initiativesUpholds integrity in actionsUtilizes effective time managementMinimal travel required What We offer:We are proudly 100% employee-owned (click HERE to learn more)Health, Dental, Vision, Short & Long Term Disability, Life Insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA), Limited Purpose FSA, Dependent Care Reimbursement, 401kPTO, Birthday PTO, Paid HolidaysEducational AssistanceBonusWork-life balance & flexibilityFamily culture
