Job Description: A Safety Manager will be responsible for implementing health and safety standards in a company. In addition, they will also lead training for employees on safety matters, identifying hazards at the workplace, inspecting equipment, creating, and enforcing safety policies, safeguarding inventory, and coordinating first aid training programs.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement ACS safety policies and programs.
- Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics to include new hire training with onboarding and forklift certification.
- Preparing educational seminars and webinars on a regular basis
- Conduct risk assessments.
- Identify process bottlenecks in any safety processes and offer timely solutions.
- Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations to include updating Veriforce, ISNETworld, and AVETTA
- Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations.
- Incident investigations
- Recording KPI’s to include man-hours, miles driven, TRIR, and DART scores.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments
- FMCSA/DOT compliance and suggest recommendations as necessary.
- MSHA compliance and suggest recommendations as necessary.
- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute safety programs including but not limited to productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Driving and promoting ACS vision and core values and adhering to all rules and regulations.
- Additional request from management as needed and all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Years’ Experience: 3 years minimum
- Stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl while working on equipment.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. (and occasionally up to 100 lbs. with assistance.)
- Be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions (extreme heat and cold).
- Ability to climb various equipment and ladders, lift and carry equipment, tools and components weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Military experience and training with honorable discharge a plus.
