What's your day like?

As a Safety Director at Met-Con, Inc., you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our safety program. Your day-to-day tasks will include developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety inspections, and investigating any accidents or incidents that may occur. You will collaborate with department managers to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks. You will also be responsible for conducting safety training sessions to ensure that all employees are aware of safety protocols and best practices.

In addition, you will stay up to date with industry standards and regulations to ensure that Met-Con, Inc. remains compliant with all safety requirements. You will also monitor and analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement. As a new Safety Director, you will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact on our organization by implementing your fresh ideas and innovative approaches.

To thrive as a Safety Director at Met-Con, Inc., you will need to possess a unique set of skills and qualifications.

These include: A bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety, safety management, construction, or a related field is required. Additionally, holding certifications such as OSHA 500 and CSP (Certified Safety Professional) is highly preferred.

You should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in safety management within the construction industry. This experience will provide you with the foundational knowledge and understanding of the unique safety challenges in the field.

Effective leadership skills are crucial as you will be responsible for managing and leading a structured safety program. Previous experience in managing and leading a safety program within a self-performing general contractor or specialty contractor organization is preferred. The role requires the ability to analyze safety data, identify trends, and implement proactive safety measures. You should possess strong problem-solving skills to address safety issues and develop practical solutions. Clear and concise communication skills are essential to effectively collaborate with various departments, conduct training sessions, and investigate incidents. The ability to convey complex safety concepts in a simple and understandable manner is crucial.
