Job Responsibilities
With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Spartanburg Office, 250 Dewey Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29303
Under general supervision, provides services to children, adolescents, and their families in a school based for Spanish speaking patients and their families. employee will provide services for support, prevention, and early intervention for youth at risk for social, emotional, behavioral, and/or academic difficulties in designated Spartanburg County schools.
Responsibilities of the Counselor II include but not limited to:
- Provides direct treatment services to children, adolescents and their families, which may include, but is not limited to PRS, Family Support Services, Behavior Modification and other services that the staff member is credentialed to provide.
- Acts as a behavioral health liaison in a school setting. Provides education about mental health services to staff.
- Maintains client charts according to requirements of current Quality Assurance manual and assures high quality services have been provided in a culturally sensitive manner to the clients.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State Minimum: A bachelor's degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences and professional experience in human services or social services programs.

Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with children, adolescents, and their families.
