RV Technician – Carlstadt, NJ
Job Summary: To perform mechanical repairs. Performs service operations by inspecting, repairing, fabricating, rebuilding, and maintaining light and heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. Ability to perform light and heavy manual labor. Work special hours as business necessitates. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Fleet Manager.
Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for servicing and maintaining custom trailers and RV’s.
- Diagnose issues and determine best course of action to remedy the problem(s).
- Provide and document complete diagnostic test and repair/replacement services to fleet management team.
- Track all parts and materials used in repairs/replacements.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance.
- Communicate regularly with fleet management team on issues and update on project completion regularly.
- Perform pre-delivery inspection.
- Assemble RV structure, wall, and roof, fresh water/waste plumbing.
- Perform basic welding tasks.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain RV appliances, LPG system, A/C system.
- Install electrical wiring and balance electrical load and entertainment and satellite systems (Winegard, Motosat, Kingdone).
- Repair and maintain cabinetry.
- Install, repair, and maintain braking and towing systems.
- Available to be on call for service calls; schedules will be made as vehicles become
- Plan workload according to oral and written directions and complete assignments on or before the scheduled completion date.
- Responsible for interior and exterior cleanliness and maintenance of lot and building at all times; these duties will be done when vehicles are not available
- Process all paperwork regarding equipment damage and report to management.
- Proper disposal of hazardous waste materials Follows and adheres to safety rules, regulations, and proper use of equipment that pertains to each job skill and qualification.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
- 4+ years of RV repair and maintenance experience and/or other relevant experience including electrical, plumbing, and mechanics.
- Experience in PDI’s, wall/roof/structure repairs and replacements, welding, fresh water and waste plumbing, RV appliance troubleshooting, LPG system maintenance, RV A/C system maintenance/troubleshooting/repair, RV electrical wiring/balancing of electrical loads, Carpentry, RV entertainment an satellite systems, RV brake system maintenance/repair, and/ or RV towing system maintenance/repair
- RVIA Certification (a plus)
- Flexibility to support rental operation during non-business hours (i.e. holidays, weekends, and evenings as needed)
- Possess basic computer skills – MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Gmail)
- Ability to multi-task and manage several projects simultaneously
- Must be detail-oriented with the ability to meet or exceed deadlines
- Experience, knowledge and skills of the methods, materials and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of equipment and power driven tools
- Possess a valid driver's license and safe driving record
- Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade
- Must be reliable and possess a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn skills, and want to continually grow professionally

Work Environment:
Activities include regularly working in outside weather conditions, exposure to extremes of temperature, visibility, wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations. Noise level in work environment is usually loud. Dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, operating vehicle, and shift work.

Compensation:
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role is $22.00 - $30.00 per hour.
The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including but not limited to market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment. In compliance with the California Law, a potential new employee’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
