Campground General Manager: Seasonal from Spring (May) to late Fall (Oct) TBD

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
- Reports to the Operations Manager of Campgrounds
Key points:
- Seasonal position: April to November every year.
- Potential to work in another corporate area in the off-season months: to be discussed in interview.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Campground Managers are responsible for overseeing the overall campground facility for the benefit of Park guests. Responsibilities include:
- Perform all job duties toward the goal of ensuring the best possible guest service, while meeting or exceeding financial goals.
- Train, coach, and schedule Campground personnel in the areas of registration, activity sales, grounds keeping and custodial duties; working side by side with staff in these areas on a regular basis.
- Motivate and provide timely feedback/evaluations to all Campground personnel.
- Address guest and employee concerns.
- Schedule and monitor payroll/shift coverage based on departmental guidelines.
- Understand and support Lodging Department and Company policies and procedures, and Oversee daily preparation of cashier reports, payroll and other daily, weekly and monthly reports.
- Oversee the collection reports and security of monies from registration fees and sales.
- Maintain an accurate computerized guest registration system.
- Oversee the proper order and maintenance of adequate pars of operating supplies.
- Assure timely inspections and repair of campground facilities.
- Maintain daily communication shift logs.
- Assure a safe and enjoyable environment for guests and employees.
- Promote and educate guests and employees on environmental and recycling policies and programs.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with National Park Service personnel.
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with the Home Support Office, Management, Call Center Reservations, IT and other departments, as needed.
- In addition, the Campground Manager’s responsibilities include those listed on all other park positions job descriptions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Hands on knowledge of pools, septic, electric, general maintenance, housekeeping and grounds keeping standards.

- Knowledge of Campground operations including Recreational Vehicles.

- Knowledge of the Campground Manager, System computer program.
- Ability to work thoroughly and quickly under pressure.
- Sales skills – phone skills.
- Must be flexible and open to changes in procedures.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: AS or higher
- Experience: 2-4 years management experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Standing for up to 8 hours per shift.
- Walking, bending and scrubbing. Could total up to 4 hours per shift.
- Moving boxes of firewood and bags of ice outward and above the shoulder for extended periods to a maximum height of 5’6”.
AUTHORITIES:
- The Campground Manager has the authority to recommend changes to improve the operation of the campground.
- To take necessary steps to ensure excellent guest service partnering with home office.
- To respond immediately to any unsafe condition.
