The Infrastructure Senior Directorate is looking for early career/recent graduates interested in a full-time, fast-paced, exciting opportunity to support our major improvement initiatives. The Infrastructure Senior Directorate is responsible for providing the physical infrastructure required to enable leading edge scientific research and development at the Nevada National Security Sites, a federal site located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas and the size of the state of Rhode Island. The team plans, designs, and builds new buildings, roads, and utilities as well as infrastructure upgrades inside nuclear and high-hazard facilities, while maintaining the existing infrastructure.

The Infrastructure Senior Directorate is comprised of 6 Directorates: Enterprise Infrastructure Programs (EIP), Project Planning & Delivery (PP&D), Engineering, Construction, Maintenance & Critical Site Infrastructure, and Essential Site Services.

Participants in the Infrastructure rotational program are full time employees. Rotational assignments are based on individual education, experience, and interests, as well as company needs. We provide opportunities to work with and connect with other organizations within the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision of Project Manager In support of one or more projects.
• Perform work of limited scope and basic complexity, generally in support of more senior professionals in one or more small projects (<$5M TPC).
• May participate in all aspects of the project(s) over the entire lifecycle (initiation, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, and closing).
• Coordinate work efforts through interaction with peers, project leaders, and supervisor.
• Provide technical and administrative assistance to assigned Project Managers.
• May assist in the preparation of project plans, timelines, performance measures and budgets.
• Use MSTS project management processes, techniques, and tools.
• Perform other duties assigned by Management.

Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience.
• Preferred Batchelor’s degree in the following fields.
  • Project Management
  • Construction Management
  • Business Management
  • Facility Management
  • Others on a case basis
• Previous project management experience and responsibilities may be helpful.
• Critical Thinking & Problem Solving:  Evaluates alternatives and identifies solutions using systematic, multi-step approaches.
• Collaboration:  Facilitates discussion and resolves conflicts within the Integrated Project Team (IPT) and with stakeholders.  Established trust among IPT members. Builds and uses cross-functional relationships to accomplish tasks. Establishes and manages small IPTs (<10 people).  Maintains and effectively leads the IPT.  Achieves customer satisfaction.  Seeks advice from more senior Project Managers.
• Decision-Making:  Demonstrates effective decision-making skills, including knowledge of how and when to escalate issues to higher levels.  Analyzes the risks and future impact of decisions.
• The initial work location will be the North Las Vegas Facility but will vary according to rotations assignments to include the Nevada National Security Site.
• Work schedule will be 4/10s Monday through Thursday (subject to change based on rotation assignment).
• Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2, ‘Identity, Credential, and Access Management,’ and Supplemental Directive NNSA SD 206.2, ‘Implementation of Personal Identity Verification for Uncleared Contractors.’

Annual salary range for this position is: $54,121.60 - $81,182.40.

Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
