We are now looking for a Robotics System Architect - ROS for our Robotics Team! For two decades, we have pioneered visual computing, the art and science of computer graphics. With our invention of the GPU - the engine of modern visual computing - the field has expanded to encompass video games, movie production, research, and autonomous machines. The team is working towards bringing high performance to enable the development of the next generation of intelligent robots. NVIDIA's ISAAC binds together high-fidelity visual and physical simulation, a high-quality development platform, key optimized algorithms, and deep learning to tackle hard problems in computer vision and artificial intelligence on a small but powerful compute platform to form the brain of intelligent machines.
What you'll be doing:
- Drive improvements of ROS 2 for hardware acceleration in collaboration with the community
- Lead the design & development of software packages aimed at helping robots perceive and interact with the world
- Develop, integrate, and test various systems-level components to enable robots to interact with their environment
- Excellent communications skills are a must to represent NVIDIA and coordinate multiple teams
- Create innovative ways to define validation scenarios and measure functionality and performance of robotics solutions
What we need to see:
- BS, MS, PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- Strong communication skills & a team player
- Experience working in distributed systems and embedded software
- Proficient C++ and Python programming and software design skills
- Ability to learn fast & debug complex system issues
- Flexibility to adapt quickly to varying roles & responsibilities
- Located or willing to relocate near robotics labs in HQ (Santa Clara, CA)
Ways To Stand Out from the crowd:
- Expertise with ROS (middleware, ecosystem, development, debugging tools)
- Impactful contribution to the ROS community
- 6+ years of hands-on development and field experience with production robots
- Strong grasp of deep learning applications for robotics
- Experience building ownership in a cross organizational, multi-disciplinary team
