Roadway Engineer (Civil)

Hire Resolve's client is urgently seeking the expertise of a Roadway Engineer (Civil) in Knoxville, TN.

Responsibilities

• Design assignments may include supporting teams designing new location roadways, roadway widening, interchange layouts, and/or roundabout design.
• Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and submittal schedules.
• Provide engineering support during construction phase of design projects.
• Coordinate work requirements under the guidance of the Discipline Design Team Lead and follow through until the total design requirements are clearly defined and implemented.
• Continue development leading to becoming a project lead for designs involving other facilities design disciplines.
• Effectively interact with government clients and support various engineering, construction, and maintenance activities.
• Assistance with layout of horizontal and vertical geometry
• Development and implementation of design criteria based on AASHTO and GDOT design policies
• Assistance with creation of cross sections and 3D modeling.
• Production of project layouts and other technical figures
• Coordination with other design disciplines to support roadway design

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• 3 – 5 years minimum experience with roadway design, preferable with some experience on GDOT projects
• Strong communication skills to support collaboration within a diverse project team.
• Experience with Bentley OpenRoads modeling
