Roadway Engineer

Responsibilities
What you'll be challenged to do:
TranSystems' Orlando, Florida office has an opportunity for an Engineer 1 to join our Roadway Practice. This Engineer 1 will be a member of our roadway group and will assist in various tasks including those listed below.

• Plan preparation
• Quantity calculation
• Geometric design
• Drainage design
• MOT
• Specifications, cost estimates and other related tasks
• Microstation, Geopak, MS Office and other design software will be used.
• All work will be in collaboration with other engineers, technicians, planners, and surveyors.
• Candidates with a background in preliminary engineering or development of detailed plans and specification are preferred; and must possess strong technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment on multi-disciplinary projects

Qualifications
What you bring to our firm:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program
• Experience with CADD
• Experience with Microsoft Office Programs
• Familiarity with FDOT plan preparation requirements for roadway projects.
• Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

What we'd prefer for you to bring to our firm:

• 2023 Graduate (0-3 years of design experience)
• EIT certification
• Previous internship experience in roadway, bridge, drainage, construction inspection and/or lighting
• MicroStation and Open Roads Design experience
