Job Summary and QualificationsThe Registered Nurse delivers professional nursing care to population specific patients in the Labor & Delivery and Antepartum Units. Follows the Board of Nursing's (BON) Standards of Nursing Practice utilizing the nursing process in care delivery. Maintains accountability for professional decisions and actions within the parameters of their legal scope of practice and in accordance with the federal, state, and local laws; rules and regulations; and policies, procedures and guidelines of Medical City Healthcare (MCH).
- ADN required.
- BSN preferred. Must sign agreement that BSN required within 24 months of hire date.
- Minimum 18 months experience within an acute care hospital with a minimum one year in a specialty area.
Must be willing to float between designated facilities in the East POD:
East POD-Dallas, Denton, Frisco, Las Colinas, Lewisville, McKinney, Plano.
Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
NRP certification require within 90 days of hire or transfer.
Professional Nursing Organization Membership encouraged.
Fetal heart monitoring, AWHONN and other HCA required courses for L&D nurses in accordance with department education schedule.
Schedule includes 12 hour shifts and weekends/holiday commitment required.
Travel from one location to another around and within the MCH Division will be required.
