Job Summary and Qualifications

This position reports directly to the Director of Quality. Is highly motivated and sets standards that ultimately will result in excellent outcomes. Is expected to demonstrates effective work habits. Is able to prioritize time and meet deadlines. Communicates appropriately and clearly. Written and oral reports are professionally presented. Is considerate and respectful in interactions with patients, families, employees and physicians. Demonstrates performance consistent with the Mission, Vision, Philosophy and Goals of the unit and organization.

Proactively anticipates performance improvement needs and uses data (i.e., CORE Measures, ORYX, Patient Satisfaction, AFIB, Heart Failure, Cardiac, Stroke etc.) to drive or direct necessary changes in processes. Skilled in data analysis and uses data to prioritize system changes to improve outcomes. Has the ablity to perform prospective and retrospective medical record reviews for the purpose of identification of real or potential risks to patients. Has the ability to share data and information with the Director of Quality, individual Department Directors, and physicians in a timely manner.

Uses current literature to obtain knowledge of cutting edge clinical practices to implement evidenced based medicine into hospital practices. Uses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to consistently build team support and cooperation in achieving goals and developing quality processes. Understands process engineering principles and works to eliminate waste in systems. Actively implements processes to do things better, is not content with status quo.

Specific duties will include coordination of the Society for Cardiovascular Care Certification for Afib, Heart Failure, and Chest Pain; and Joint Commission Stroke Certification. Including team meetings, coordination of data collection and reporting, education, policy and procedure review and development, and action planning and follow-up.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Current State of Utah or Compact Registered Nurse License.
  • Associate's degree required.  BSN Preferred.
  • One to two years of recent critical care  experience preferred.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 7 days of hire.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification. Must obtain within 90 days of hire and maintain certification.
