Job Summary

  • Exempt: No
  • The RHC RN provides and delegates nursing care for clinic patients according to established standards.
  • In collaboration with clinic providers, provides supervision of non-licensed support staff. This nurse will
  • be responsible for handling complicated, incoming calls, assessing and recommending treatment per
  • protocol, and assisting the clinic providers in ensuring excellent patient care.

        • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
        • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Prefer clinic medical office experience.
        • LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: Current California RN license.
        • LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: Current CPR card.

        • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (b): This job requires frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing,
        • reaching above shoulders, sitting, walking inclines and declines, standing, talking, hearing, and
        • performing repetitive hand motions. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust
        • focus. The employee will occasionally pull, lift, transfer, or push a patient side to side, to a sitting
        • position, to a standing position, or laterally. The employee must demonstrate a pull lift of 50 pounds
        • from the floor.
        • POTENTIAL EXPOSURE TO BLOOD & BODY FLUIDS: Category 1 for potential exposure to bloodbody
        • fluids. (Requires the performance of procedures or other tasks in the work routine that involve an
        • inherent potential for mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids or tissues, or a
        • potential for spills or splashes of them. Protective measures should be used while engaged in Category
        • 1 tasks with exposure potential.)

        Job Roles

        RN, Rural Health Clinic (AHCL)

        • Adheres to the Corporate Compliance Code of Conduct.
        • Administers Medications. -
        • Assist Assigned provider in a competent and efficient manner. -
        • Assist in the development of a prioritized interdisciplinary plan of care on
        • designated patients. -
        • Ensures appropriate scope of practice for all clinic staff. -
        • Implements and coordinates plan of care utilizing appropriate organization skills
        • and reporting mechanisms. -
        • Liaison to and works with hospital pharmacist regarding administering of all
        • medications. -
        • Maintains and meets expectations on time for all competencies, license,
        • certifications and education requirements as outlined by local administration,
        • Adventist Health (AH), The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and
        • Medicaid Services (CMS), and all other regulatory agencies.
        • Monitors patients comfort and alleviates anxiety during procedurestreatment.
        • Performs admission assessments, ongoing re-assessments based on clinic specific
        • policy and procedure.
        • Performs assigned clinical procedures (i.e. phlebotomy, injections, drug screen,
        • dressing changes, provider procedure set up and assisting, etc.).
        • Performs ongoing evaluations of the effectiveness of the plan of care and the
        • patients response to care
        • Performs referrals and refills based on provider written orders.
        • Provides general oversight over all nursing services.
        • Provides oversight for PI Coordination in trainingcompetency for all clinic staff.
        • Willingly performs other duties and innovations as assigned.
        • Works with the Family Health Centers PI nurse and Director of Clinic Services to
        • ensure back office compliance with Title 22 and JCAHO regulations and
        • requirements at all RHCs.
