River Terminal Supervisor

SCF Lewis and Clark Terminals LLC provides bulk and general cargo terminal services along the U.S. Inland Waterways with the ability to receive and transfer by barge, unit train, and truck. Employees will assist in operations of SCF Lewis & Clark River Terminals throughout the St Louis and Granite City Port Area.

Essential functions:

• Supervisor is skilled in all aspects of the agricultural and River Terminal loading/unloading industry. The successful candidate must be a leader with good character who can lead, train, teach less experienced employees and the importance of being punctual as they will be supervising 5-6 employees on a daily basis.
• Candidate must be physically able to climb ladders and stairs up to a including 100ft, is able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted and be willing to work in all types of weather. Working around and near water and traversing all types of walking surfaces in all types of weather are essential. The successful candidate must be hands on and team oriented. The candidate should be proficient in all aspects of unloading/unloading railcars, rail switching, locomotive operation and barge loading. They also need to have skills and knowledge relevant to the logistics of scheduling and management.
• The successful candidate should also have some knowledge and troubleshooting experience with electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
• The successful candidate will play a key role in evaluating daily facility improvements and will be in constant communication with the Operations and Maintenance Managers to arrange and address maintenance tasks. Candidate will have effective communication, organizational, and computer skills. Good time management and scheduling skills are also essential to be successful.
