PSA Penn Terminals is looking for forward thinking, highly motivated candidate to work in a fast-paced environment, to oversee the daily warehouse operation. Supervisor would be responsible for 15 to 20 Union employees handling container packing/unpacking, Truck loading and warehouse inventory. Supervisor is responsible for a combination of administrative, managerial, and operational tasks.
We provide CFS services to 4 shipping line customers to move cargo between containers and OTR trucks, Warehouse supervisors are responsible for overseeing these operations and controlling warehouse inventory.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct supervision of union checkers and heavy equipment operators.
- Effective warehouse planning and inventory control.
- Overseeing the loading and unloading of cargo onto and from trucks, and other transport modes.
- Enforcement of internal operating policies and safety procedures.
- Interacting with the customers on a daily basis, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Supervise and lead a team of warehouse staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
- Ensure that all warehouse activities comply with safety regulations and guidelines.
- Prepare reports on warehouse performance, such as productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as logistics, procurement, and production, to facilitate smooth operations.
- Managing container inventories and optimizing container utilization.
- Coordinating and Providing timely information to vessel operators about cargo status and availability.
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 3+ year’s supervisor experience in a union environment.
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Problem solving and analytical skills, as well as a strong attention to detail
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to delegate and enforce company policy
- Knowledge of workplace safety and accident prevention regulations.
