As a Field Exam Lead in Specialized Industries Risk, you play a key role in upfront and ongoing due diligence related to secured credit facilities (from less than $1 million to in excess of $1.5 billion) by analyzing prospect/client collateral and financial information to complete examinations. We are required to document procedures performed in work-papers and complete a written report summarizing the results of the review. As a member of the deal team you will provide risk assessments to business partners in conjunction with completion of the examination. Examinations are performed on the client's premises so depending on the client location, 10 - 50% overnight travel and a valid driver's license is required.
Job responsibilities
- Obtain and analyze client accounts receivable, inventory, and accounts payable data and historical performance
- Obtain an overview and understanding of the client's collateral and financial performance
- Preparing (new credit facility) or verifying/validating (existing credit facility) a borrowing base calculation
- Testing/validation of collateral through review of source documentation
- Verify the existence of inventory through physical inspection
- Conduct a high level assessment of internal controls and financial reporting
- Documenting tasks performed on Excel based Field Exam template
- Oversee and mentor Analysts
- Prepare a written report using Field Exam template
- Generally work in teams (often teams of 2) and must be able to build strong customer relationships while performing an accurate review of collateral.
- Communicate frequently with internal business partners.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum 7 years commercial lending, Field Exam, accounting or auditing experience
- Strong interpersonal and relationship development skills
- Effective business writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and data mining tools
- Analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Intellectual curiosity and ability to problem solve
- Ability to think critically while working in a fast paced environment
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- BS in Accounting, Finance or Economics strongly preferred, other majors considered based on experience
- Previous experience managing a team of Field Examiners is a plus
- Monarch and Stucky ABL knowledge is helpful
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or Public Accounting
- CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner)
