Rigger/Testing

MWI Pumps is seeking a skilled and experienced Rigger to join our team. As a Rigger, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement, assembly, and installation of heavy machinery, including industrial pumps and related components. Your expertise will contribute to the overall success of our manufacturing processes by enabling the precise handling and positioning of equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Location: Deerfield Beach , FL

Responsibilities:

Safely and efficiently rig, lift, move, and position heavy machinery, industrial pumps, and components within the manufacturing facility using appropriate rigging techniques and equipment.

Collaborate with the production team, engineers, and project managers to plan and execute the movement and installation of equipment as per production schedules and project requirements.

Inspect rigging equipment, slings, chains, hoists, and other tools before use to ensure they are in proper working condition and comply with safety standards.

Set up rigging equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution, balance, and attachment to machinery.

Operate cranes, hoists, forklifts, and other lifting equipment safely and effectively.

Communicate and coordinate with team members to ensure smooth workflow during equipment handling and installation.

Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a culture of safety awareness and ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

Maintain accurate records of rigging activities, equipment inspections, and any incidents that occur during lifting operations.

Identify and report any equipment malfunctions, defects, or potential safety hazards to the supervisor.

Assist in the assembly and disassembly of industrial pumps, ensuring proper alignment and attachment of components.

Participate in training sessions to stay updated on new rigging techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing insights and suggestions for optimizing rigging processes.

Physical Demands: This position is labor intensive, must be able to stand, sit, feel, twist, walk, talk, hear, see, drive, bend, crouch, grasp, squeeze, crawl, kneel, squat, push, pull, apply pressure, and reach overhead. Must have the ability to focus for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to lift and carry 40 lbs regularly if required. Must be able to safely operate all required machinery. Must have the ability to work outdoors and be subject to local weather conditions.

Working Conditions: Traditional non-air-conditioned heavy industrial manufacturing environment. Extended hours and weekend work may be required.
