Service Technician-Experienced:
Air Comm is a well-established two-way radio and wireless communications service provider in the Southwest US area. We are expanding in the Houston, TX and Phoenix, AZ areas and are looking for an experienced LMR/Two Way Radio Technician to join our Team. We need a Technician to install, repair, align, and maintain two-way radio communications, and BDA/DAS systems. This position lends itself to a detail oriented and hands on type person such as a communication technician, electronics technician, Ham Radio specialist, IT specialist, or former Military electronics/radio communication folks. We install and maintain several different manufacturer's equipment, but focus primarily on Motorola Solutions' MOTOTRBO. The RF world is highly niche and Motorola Solutions commands a significant portion of the market. Our customers are primarily commercial and industrial facilities who use radios for logistics and safety.

Relevant Job Skills (NOTE: Each tech is different, we are looking for techs who want to learn as many of the below skills as possible) :
- Install, maintain, and provide technical support for VHF/UHF/800/900 digital Motorola DMR conventional & trunked systems like MOTOTRBO.
- Program subscriber code plugs for mobile and portable subscriber equipment for different DMR channel types (Conventional, Capacity Plus Multi Site/LCP/CPMS, Capacity Plus/CPSS, Connect Plus, and Capacity Max).
- Program MOTOTRBO Digital features, such as Digital Emergency, Phone Patch, Call Alert, Text, GPS and Data.
- Implement dispatch consoles - such as AvTec or SmartPTT or TRBOnet.
- Troubleshoot RF technologies that may be unrelated to two way radio such as WiFi, Point to Point microwave, LTE, cellular, or similar.
- Use a service monitor/spectrum analyzer/VNA/RF Power meter and other test equipment for RF related troubleshooting and tuning.
- Install and repair Distributed Antennas Systems/DAS and Bi Directional Amplifier/BDA systems.
- Tune duplexers, combiners, and filters.
- Install/deploy radios and communication equipment in vehicles, buildings, and heavy equipment.
- Install and deploy fixed and mobile cameras including indoor and outdoor units.
- Pull indoor and outdoor network and RF cabling.
- Terminate different types of network, RF, and electrical cabling.
- Deploy and troubleshoot the IP networking side of Motorola radio systems using IP networks that include subnets, VLANS, gateways, and IP addresses.
- Install and repair fixed and mobile video surveillance camera systems.
- Troubleshoot basic DC electrical issues in fixed, mobile, and handheld equipment.
- Travel to remote locations to provide our customers with the above services.
Preferred Skillsets (additional consideration will be given to those who posses any of these skills):
- Experience with Motorola MOTOTRBO infrastructure, Digital Conventional, IPSC and CPMS/LCP, Capacity Max, trunking, or a similar field.
- Experience with Motorola Solutions CPS, CPS 2.0 and/or Radio Management/RM.
- Experience in antenna design, duplexers, combining equipment and related test equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, Service Monitors, VNA, RF Tuning).
- Experience in diagnosing radio interference issues.
- Experience in battery backup systems, power amplifiers, phone patches and cross-band radio interoperability.
- Working knowledge of IP networking, subnets, VLANS, gateways, and IP addressing
- Possessing the following certifications or licenses: FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License/GROL, Amateur/Ham Radio License, BICSI, CET, CCNA, GCT1, GCT2, etc.
- Experience with analog or digital telephone systems.
- Experience with basic DC electricity and use of a Multimeter/DMM.
- Experience with using RF power meter to measure forward and reverse RF power on antenna and coax systems.
- Experience or willingness to climb towers up to 150ft.
- Experience working at heights.
- Experience working in heavy industrial environments (TWIC card may be required).
