The Coupling Testing Technician requires an understanding and ability to test, cut and flush weldments and couplings as required by product designs. The Technician will be trained in all operations of the department and able to facilitate any operation with a high level of skill.
Responsibilities
This position is primarily responsible to:
- Operate a multitude of pressure testing tables and perform detailed test in accordance with the appropriate test per design requirements.
- Must be able to read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately test products according to the product specification or test procedures.
- Required to accurately fill out testing forms and other documentation for each test or operation.
- Perform fluid cleanliness testing and operate flushing table(s) as required by product designs.
- Operate manual lathe and assorted saws as required to cut products as necessary.
- Able to perform all operations involved in the tube preparation department which include but is not limited to tube measurement, tube cut on abrasive or cold saw, weld profile preparation and tube ultrasonic cleaning.
- Utilize ERP System to perform everyday Job Processes.
- Record operation and material transactions daily and accurately input into the ERP database to ensure the highest level of quality.
- Utilize Data Acquisition software and understand the proper working of pressure transducers.
- Assist in the calibration process of gauges, transducers and other measuring equipment as required by supervisor.
- Assist in department goals and objectives by ensuring the department tooling inventory is kept in an orderly and clean manner on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Test experience in related industry, high mechanical aptitude preferred.
- Strong mechanical background and a basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
