- Assist design engineers with circuit design and simulation tasks using CAE tools, such as ADS, AWR, SystemVue, or Cadence
- Assist design engineers with development of Matlab code
- Writing Design and Simulation reports to clearly document design process, and simulation results
- Assist design engineers with RF substrate and printed circuit board layouts
- Assemble and tune RF devices for specified performance.
- Conduct RF measurements.
- Write Test code for automated testing
- Write test reports with summary and conclusions. Highlighting Test Set-up, Test Conditions, any test failures or discrepancies.
- Maintain proper test records
- Adhere to established test procedures, and lab rules.
- Adhere to company's quality policies, and procedures
- Successful completion of an undergraduate Electrical and/or RF circuit courses relayed to LNA, PA designs.
- Presently enrolled in a PhD, or Master program in Electrical engineering with main courses related to RF/Microwaves.
- Successful completion of graduate courses with design projects related to RF PA, and/or LNA design.
- Experience with RF simulation programs, e.g. ADS, Cadence, etc.
- Knowledge of Engineering software, e.g. Matlab, Simulink, SystemVue, Labview, etc.
- Proficiency with Unix, Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic, Word, and Power Point.
- Knowledge of RF circuit layout programs, e.g. Cadence, APD, Orcad, etc.
Desirable Work Experience:
- Working experience with printed circuit boards assemble, and component soldering.
- Preferred working experience with high frequency (i.e. 50 MHz to 7 GHz) RF testing.
- Working experience with RF Test Equipment (e.g. Signal Generators, Network Analyzer, RF Spectrum Analyzers, etc.)
- Familiarity with common engineering lad assembly procedures, and tools (e.g. Soldering iron, Microscope, etc.)
Job Duration:
- Approximately 6 months between January 2023 and June 2023.
The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
