Position Overview: As a Revenue Cycle Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial health of our organization by overseeing the entire Revenue Cycle process. This includes billing, coding, claims processing, and payment reconciliation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of healthcare Revenue Cycle management, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately assign appropriate codes to medical procedures and diagnoses.
- Ensure compliance with coding regulations and guidelines.
- Review and update coding processes to optimize revenue capture.
- Manage the timely submission of claims to insurance providers.
- Investigate and resolve claim denials, ensuring maximum reimbursement.
- Collaborate with internal departments to obtain necessary documentation for claims.
- Reconcile payments received with billed amounts.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in payment postings.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve coverage issues.
- Update patient records with accurate insurance information.
- Generate patient statements and invoices.
- Answer patient inquiries regarding billing and insurance.
- Implement strategies to improve patient payment collections.
- Prepare regular reports on key Revenue Cycle metrics.
- Analyze trends and recommend process improvements for efficiency.
- Collaborate with the finance team to support financial planning and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and coding systems (e.g., CPT, ICD-10).
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and problem-solving.
