Position Summary
In collaboration with Revenue Cycle leadership, the Revenue Cycle Reporting and QA Analyst supports RC operational teams with Reporting and Quality Assurance needs in alignment with business requirements. The position is responsible for the design, build, and implementation of epic reports and related tools as well as tracking and monitoring of Revenue Cycle KPIs. This position conducts regular analytics and quality assurance surrounding Revenue Cycle focus areas such as billing, claims, Registration, denials, coding, charging, productivity, and other necessary Revenue Cycle components to gauge consistent compliance. This position will support process design/engineering, allowing for the evaluation of existing processes, identification of improvement areas, and driving process reengineering efforts to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. The position collaborates with the RCO team, IS, and Rev Cycle leaders to aid in the validation of proper build and development surrounding the business needed. This position requires forward-thinking individuals who seek opportunities to apply data and technology to improve business processes with strategic goals at the forefront.
Job Duties
Reporting and Analytics Focus:
  • Develops detailed and summary reports on a regular basis, which are specific to the Revenue Cycle process and key indicators
  • Responsible for compiling, analyzing, and distributing financial and operational data to support key Revenue Cycle initiatives
  • Collaborates with department leadership and staff to ensure accurate and complete analysis, trend data, and compile executive summaries to key stakeholders;
  • Identify trends in financial performance utilizing EPIC data and provide recommendations for improvement; Analyze data to derive conclusions and construct action plans.
  • Utilize reporting in all available sources ( Epic RWB, Slicer Dicer, Abacus, extracts, etc) and ensure data integrity.
  • Promotes self-service analytics for customer adoption, understanding, and use of data. Supports design of programmatic analyses and reporting capabilities in addition to business requirement definition for new analyses and performs ad-hoc analysis as directed.
  • Independently facilitates discovery and design sessions for new complex reports and extract build activities including new requests or enhancements to existing items using best practices for automation design and development
  • Documents detailed specifications for new build activities and confirms understanding of design with engineering, customer success, and product delivery teams
  • Complete monthly standard reports
  • Complete various reports for the annual fiscal year audit and other external audit support efforts
  • Communicates clearly, timely, and professionally, both in writing and verbally

Quality Assurance/Auditing Focus
  • Audit responsibilities include research, writing reports, interviewing, data analysis, recommending corrective action plans, staff education, and providing consultative services to Rev cycle management, compliance, operational, and service line leaders when needed.
  • Coordinates audit schedule to ensure compliance with quality audit procedures. Identifies and escalates risks with proposed solutions and suggested recommendations
  • Identifies, remediates/escalates operational challenges, gaps, risks/issues and improvement opportunities for the Revenue Cycle.
  • Independently problem-solves to remove blockers, identify risks and create mitigation plans, and escalate timely; Applies critical thinking to solve internal problems
  • Responsible for research and analyses of existing and new regulatory requirements for topics addressed in the work plan and audits performed.
  • Supports research through ongoing investigation to confirm enhancement requirements or other data needs; Provides input to Revenue Cycle leadership for department policies and procedures.
  • Aids in the identification of process variances, creating guidelines policies, and procedures to increase the accuracy and timeliness of charge capture.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to confirm complete and comprehensive requirements for all workflow and system development
  • facilitate discovery sessions, create product build specifications, and confirm business cases associated with product build or enhancement activities; Guides detailed problem-solving and design-related discussions to achieve the desired future state
  • Performs various analyses and provides reports to determine trends, compliance billing, impacts to net revenue, and other analytical requests pertaining to Revenue Cycle
  • Makes recommendations for the development of action plans with trainers, Managers, Operations Coordinators, and/or Team Leads.

Other Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Epic TS, System engineering, interfaces and other support teams as needed.
  • Produce administrative-level summaries that provide concise information for use in decision-making
  • Provide support in Reporting development needs across multiple tools with EDW team; Participate in EDW team data governance meetings as needed
  • Establish and facilitate the monthly production of financial reports and analysis
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute ad-hoc reports as needed
  • Conduct special projects as needed
  • Create Assessments and finding reports for reporting out analysis
  • Maintain and monitor service now tasks and requests as assigned.
  • Participate in RCO team upgrade reviews of reporting-based impact items
  • Participate in Epic Change Control meetings as needed
  • Interact professionally with all employees and external customers
  • Serve as a resource on financial and revenue issues

Education and Experience
Minimum Education and Experience Required
  • Associate degree Required in Data analytics, finance, business, Healthcare, or other relevant field ; BS degree preferred
  • 2+ year of Data analysis, auditing and reporting experience in Healthcare Required
  • 3+ years of Prior experience in a healthcare environment with knowledge of claims, denial management, and healthcare collections or other related facets preferred
  • Experience preferred in building Epic reports and dashboards(Badge/Proficiency/Cert may be required within 2 months of hire)

KNOWLEDGE OF:
  • Advanced Excel skills including the ability to produce graphs, charts, and tables, use spreadsheets efficiently, and perform calculations and automation to process large volumes of data
  • Solid PowerPoint development and structuring of conversation to the audience in an effective and thoroughly aligned manner.
  • Organizational and departmental structure, systems, workflow, and operations policies/procedures pertaining to Revenue Cycle and healthcare finance. Extensive knowledge of epic billing applications Resolute HB or PB.
