Position Summary
Responsible for carrying out all functions related to Posting and Credit Resolution.
Job Responsibilities
- Performs diversified Payment Posting functions for assigned groups/practices.
- Responsible for all Reconciliatory duties required for all assigned financial transactions.
- Processes correspondence items that include denials and nonpayment documents across all patient accounts.
- Review accounts receivable for credit and debit posting discrepancies and determine appropriate action required to resolve variance.
- Researches posting inquiries and assists in gathering required documentation for resolution.
- Reviews registration, demographic and insurance eligibility issues to determine allocation of payment and credits.
- Responsible for notating and reporting inconsistent and invalid financial transactions. Monitors payment patterns and escalates deviations.
- Process Credit Card authorizations received from the PCI Bank Lock Boxes for all departments.
- Process all incoming charge backs, returned, unpaid items, bank adjustments, domestic and international wire transfers, interinstitutional, Research, Global contracts, and specialized agreements across all departments.
- Utilize the Credit Work Queues to analyze and validate credit transactions across all departments.
- Assists in training current and new employees on the use of systems and departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains established institutional and department policies and procedures, objectives and quality & safety standards. Respects and adheres to rules and regulations regarding patient confidentiality, HIPAA and handling PHI (Privileged Health Information).

Education
- High School Diploma
Experience
- College degree is preferred.
- Approximately 1+ years of medical billing experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
- Demonstrated knowledge of third party reimbursement.
- Previous related experience in an office setting.
