Job description

The Revenue Cycle AR SWAT Analyst provides revenue account receivable assistance to the administrative and managerial staff of the hospital and subsidiaries.  This position will be responsible to help improve Revenue Cycle performance throughout the hospital, clinics and EBO clients. They will be expected to identify opportunities for Revenue Cycle performance improvement based on regulatory, payor, physician, departmental and/or service line analysis.  This position will assist with developing and maintaining the overall training and education of the operations of the Revenue Cycle billing team.
 
Job Duties
  • Develop and maintain Revenue Cycle Billing Operational Training and Education needs.
  • Assist the Revenue Cycle management team in developing and maintaining standards to measure the effectiveness of team members operational performances.
  • Develop and maintain statistical data for monthly and/or daily reports.
  • Provide feedback to the affiliates regarding issues found during analysis of processes.
  • Develop Best Practices throughout the Revenue Cycle billing team.
  • Work in a group setting sharing thoughts and ideas regarding processes.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with EPIC trainers, Information Services, and other departments and clinic.
  • Work with departmental staff to ensure standardization and compliance.
  • Knowledgeable on payer requirements, regulations, rules for all aspects of the Revenue Cycle.
  • Work with and maintain knowledge in EBO client systems (Epic, Cerner, McKesson, CPSI, Dairyland, Meditech etc.)
  • Managing AR in multiple systems.
  • Completes special projects and other duties as needed/assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of billing processes and regulations, as well as payer policies.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to work closely and maintain positive relationships with direct reports, departmental management, hospital leadership and medical staff.
  • Analytical skills to analyze billing data and regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of process improvement concepts.
  • Leadership ability to coach and support employee performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • Proficient in analytics and reporting.
  • Requires highly developed communication skills to effectively work with all levels of management throughout Mercy Medical Center, its subsidiaries and affiliates.
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to work as a team member, creating and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures.
Professional Experience
  • Minimum 5 years' insurance billing in either professional or hospital billing required, prefer both.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools required.
  •  Experience in Epic strongly preferred.
  • Experience in AR management preferred.
Education
  • Hi gh School Diploma required.
  • Associate degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Data Analytics or Statistics preferred.

Physical Demand Requirements
  • Light work.  Lifts up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis.

  • Sitting, standing, walking, stooping, talking, seeing, hearing, visual accommodation, bending, and lifting required.

  • Ability to travel to offsite locations.
