Responsible for oversight of one or more of the following teams: Epic revenue professional and hospital billing, access for hospital-based clinics and the full complement of University of Florida Physicians Clinics, and/or document imaging for all Epic applications (ambulatory EMR, inpatient EMR, revenue and access for PB and HB) and Health Information Management (HIM). Develop and implement strategic direction, standards and services for providing enterprise-wide information technology and integration services. Assists departments in determining and meeting information technology needs as well as budgeting. Manages customer relations for Revenue Cycle departments and defines the needs of customer support, applications support, network infrastructure and data center to ensure customer expectations are defined, clearly communicated and satisfied. This position may be required to access confidential patient data in order to achieve the implementation and maintenance of systems. Position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with multiple levels of faculty and staff throughout the organization. Out-of-town travel is occasionally required.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred and five years of relevant work experience or relevant work experience equivalent.
- Work experience may be substituted for degree.
- At least three years of supervisory/significant project management experience required.
- Requires working knowledge of the information technology field, which can be immediately applied to the Shands health care environment with minimal orientation and training.
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with various levels of employees and staff within the organization.
- Out-of-town travel is occasionally required and there is a requirement for on-call rotations that will require use of a pager/cell phone on a periodic basis.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
- Employees in this position will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a "non-frequent driver."
NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
