POSITION SUMMARY:

Are you ready to join a FOUR time US Best Managed Company ?! Kent Nutrition Group (KNG) has an opening for a Retail Operations Manager. This opportunity is responsible for overseeing operations in assigned district of the company owned stores. Individuals will lead and support store management to ensure sales growth and profitability in each of the store locations through exceptional customer service, execution of safety protocols, merchandising, inventory management, and upholding brand standards. This is a salaried position and will reside in the Northeastern United States and report to the Director of the Retail Store Division.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:   

Management and Leadership 

  • Hire and onboard new store leaders and build bench strength within his/her district.
  • Supervise and support store management team in assigned areas by setting expectations and driving the execution of company and divisional initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing leadership training and coaching of Store Managers as well as Assistant Store Managers.
  • Ensure assigned stores meet company expectations for overall store standards, safety, cleanliness, merchandising, and customer service.
  • Implement and monitor action plans to ensure the achievement of Store and divisional goals Measure outcomes to ensure desired results and hold the team accountable.
  • Enforce adherence to all company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Inspire stewardship of the Brand among all associates, and at all levels.

Inventory 

  • Oversee cycle or annual counts throughout assigned geography to ensure proper on hand maintenance.
  • Monitor shrink across assigned stores, implement and enforce policies to reduce shrink risk and conduct investigations when necessary.
  • Collaborate with store managers and purchasing manager to develop product mix tailored to local community and customer trends.

Revenue and Margins 

  • Drive the overall financial performance of the assigned stores by analyzing financial reports and effectively communicating with your team to meet budget goals such as: sales, labor, shrink, and operating expense.
  • Monitor margins and work with pricing management personnel to regulate product pricing using results of market and demand analysis.

Store Standards 

  • Visit retail establishments and provide guidance to ensure effective merchandising, maintenance of acceptable store standards, and proper maintenance of facilities.
  • Enforce policies for the merchandising of goods in retail stores to maximize sales performance and ensure adherence of brand standards across stores.
  • Conduct training and set expectations to promote an exceptional customer experience in assigned stores.

Safety and Compliance 

  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and controls at retail stores.
  • Work with safety manager to address high loss facility situations.
  • Implement innovative strategies to reduce risk and prevent accidents across chain.
  • Ensure stores are meeting all local, state, and federal compliance standards.
  • Manage DOT compliance for truck fleet and drivers.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, agricultural business or in a similar field or 5-8 years of related management experience.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 or more years in retail business management or operations management
  • 5 or more years in agricultural industry
  • Relentless follow through and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in presenting, writing and one-on-one communications
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing environment that requires a high degree of multi-tasking with minimal supervision
  • Effective use of computer technology including Microsoft Office applications

TRAVEL:

  • 50% of time required.
