Job Description
Job Summary: The position of Retail Associate is responsible for greeting all customers in a friendly and courteous way, selling merchandise, maintaining a neat and tidy store while also assisting customers with all questions and requests.
Requirements:Job Responsibilities:
- Energetically welcome customers
- Operate the register and POS system
- Upsell merchandise at appropriate times
- Maintain a clean and organized store
- Perform inventory
- Answer phone calls, emails, and additional inquiries
- Maintain knowledge of store merchandise
- Serves customers by assisting in selecting products
- Drives sales through engagement of customers and suggestive selling
- Directs customers by escorting them to their preferred products location
- Manage financial transactions
- Alerts management of potential security issues
- Documents sales by creating or updating customer profile records
- Keep clientele informed by notifying them of preferred customer sales and future merchandise of potential interest
- All other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs
- Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate in basic English preferred
- Previous in-person customer experience preferred
- Previous retail experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Detail oriented and thorough
- Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests
- Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards
- Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant friendly way
- Ability to perform cash transactions correctly
- Knowledge of Microsoft office operations
- Ability to remain calm in uncomfortable conflicts
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of retail operations
- Task-oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude focused on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift to 50lbs
- Ability to stand or walk for most of shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling
Working Conditions:
- Indoor
- Possible exposure to a somewhat noisy environment
