RETAIL ACCOUNT MANAGER

Reports To: National Sales Manager-Retail
Travel: As needed (upto 75%)
FLSA Status: Full Time, Exempt
Position Summary
The Retail Account Manager is responsible for maintaining and growing Distributor and Key Accounts sales in his or her designated distributor territory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Training distributor/broker sales teams and distributor staff
- Partner with distributors to facilitate sales to retail customers.
- Ride - with distributor/broker sales team.
- Develop both existing and new distributor’s business.
- Develop new business with large leverage customers, regional chains, in the designated territory of responsibility.
- Manage relationships with brokers where needed in his/her area.
- Food show and distributor’s sales meetings participation and management.
- Distributor Marketing budget management including samples.
- Personal sample budget management.
- Travel and expense budget responsibility.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor, including submission of requested periodic reports on a timely basis.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Position Qualifications
- In-Store Bakery Sales Management
- Premium Brand experience (preferred)
- Previous experience in Broker Management
- Frozen category experience - (retail center-store- preferred)
- Distributor and Direct Retail account management
- Experience in Business/Sales development.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Must be able to work in a team environment amongst diversity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Basic understanding of the food service industry preferred.
- Dessert expertise preferred.
- Culinary experience a plus
- Manufacturer sales experience a plus
Position Requirements
- Extensive travel is required by either car and/or air.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
