Overview
Job Summary:
Performs therapy as prescribed and in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates a knowledge of all routine therapy equipment, oximeters, regulators, flowmeters, analyzers, ETCO2 monitors, medical gases, inhaled pharmacological agents, etc.
- Has a working knowledge of Hospital/Respiratory care policy and procedure manuals. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care of service appropriate to the age of the patients served on assigned unit.
- Demonstrates and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/area's/department's policies and procedures
- Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degrees: High School Diploma or GED and Currently enrolled in a recognized Respiratory Therapy program at either the junior or senior level
- Experience: <2 years
- Supervisor Experience: None
- Licenses & Certifications: Respiratory Care Educational Permit issued by the Missouri Board for Respiratory Care
