Respiratory Therapist

GENERAL PURPOSE: The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for the accurate and safe execution of physician’s orders for the optimal administration of oxygen therapy, respiratory treatments, arterial puncture/blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, ventilatory support, EKG testing, and bedside spirometry. Helps to maintain supplies/ equipment for the efficient and beneficial administration of this therapy or testing. May function as the Department Manager in his/her absence as designated. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Position requires bending at waist, standing, sitting and pushing.
Must have good written and communication skills to deal with the public and hospital physicians/staff.
