Accordingly, the RWDSU has the exclusive right to bargain over the terms and conditions of employment related to this position and this position may become covered by the terms of a collective bargaining agreement (a "CBA") between Housing Works and the RWDSU
 
Compensation Range: $23/hr-$25/hr  Commensurate with experience

Overview:

The Residential Aide Supervisor (RAS) ensures the wellbeing and safety of the program's clients and staff during their shifts and supervises the RA staff so they can achieve the same goal. The RAS provides crisis intervention as needed to maintain residential safety and security. The RAS encourages our clients to adhere to the Housing Works Code of Conduct so that they can participate in the program in a healthy and safe manner.

Responsibilities

- The RAS supervises a team of Residential Aides at the MOCJ Emergency Transitional Housing Hotel and ensures coverage by creating staff schedules.

- Build rapport with program clients and engage with them professionally and respectfully. When necessary, de-escalate tense, even hostile, client situations.

- Ensure the safety, security, and integrity of residents and guests, as well as the facility's physical environment.

- Conduct periodic facility walk-throughs.

- Train staff in all programmatic policies and procedures.

- Always provide excellent customer service and confidentiality.

- Communicate with the Justice Initiatives and Operations staff on resident behavior and the care of those on the fragile list.

- Always enforce the Residential Code of Conduct and/or House Rules.

- Willingness to work occasional overtime and offer flexibility regarding scheduled work time.

- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.

- Ability to work with the street homeless population. Dependable and flexible

- Able to maintain a high level of client confidentiality.

- Excellent internal and external customer service skills and strong interpersonal skills.

- Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of management.

- Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

- Ability to work under pressure.

- Self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to assert oneself.

- Exemplary time management skills.

- Ability to work with colleagues to solve problems.

- Able to lift 20 lbs. with proper assistance and tools.

- The Residential Aide Supervisor position is one which requires the staff person to be present at the program site 100% of the time.

 -High School Diploma or GED required.

- Bachelor's degree preferred.

- At least three years of work experience as a Residential Aide and/or in a client-facing role at a social services organization.

- Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
