Responsibilities- Oversee contract management, administration, and coordination for projects of diverse scales and types.
- Assume full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating construction engineering documents.
- Monitor assigned staff to ensure contractor activities align with project plans, specifications, and contractual requirements.
- Act as a liaison between the client, company personnel, and contractors, facilitating the resolution of project issues.
- Analyze intricate construction and design challenges, necessitating the development of innovative techniques or procedures.
- Represent projects and clients at meetings and conferences.
- The Senior Resident Engineer will actively contribute to pursuing new opportunities for NV5.
- Review and respond to contractor's correspondence as necessary.
- Implement on-site procedures to support staff in their work.
- Keep clients informed about project issues and propose potential resolutions.
- Interpret and analyze plans effectively.
- Monitor contractor progress and compare it with the approved Progress Schedule.
- Mentor and train staff members to enhance their skills.
- Administer and manage contracts and budgets.
- Coordinate with other agencies as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- California Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with heavy civil transportation projects.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience with Caltrans construction methods and practices.
- Relevant past work experience involving field engineering tasks of increasing responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Business Development experience
- Local agency and rail experience
- Experience with Storm Water Pollution and Prevention Plan implementation.
- Structure construction experience.
- Demonstrated ability in multi-discipline and agency coordination.
The pay range for this California position is $140,000 to $235,000 per year. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162. .Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
