Growing Chicago firm is looking to add a Resident Engineer for their Rockford, Illinois area team
Responsibilities:
- Supervise construction on highway and/or roadway projects throughout areas of Illinois
- Provide quality assurance to projects comply with plans/specifications
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Communicate directly with clients and contractors; set up meetings as needed
- Negotiate change orders
- Assist contractor with utility coordination
- Monitor project schedule progress
- Review contractor progress reports
- Coordinate with other agencies and city departments
- Oversee field site activities and provide technical guidance
- Review/approve contract submittals and contractor payment requests
- Participate in contract close-out process
- Complete multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Construction Management preferred
- IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities certification required
- 8+ years of inspection experience for bridge, highway, and roadway projects (including background in field inspection/office engineering)
- PE License preferred
- Experience managing project team members
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Salary is commensurate with experience.
