Assistant Resident Engineer

Savin Engineers is seeking Assistant Resident Engineer at Newark and Teterboro Airports.

Candidate will be responsible to Manage the scope of work, schedule, contractor’s field procedures and construction problems, and other technical information for the successful delivery of projects within budget and schedule. Work generally pertains to airport and building concrete work, civil site work, paving work, drainage systems, structural, and maintenance of traffic, with some electrical, environmental, and plumbing knowledge.

Requirements:

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Verbal communication includes speaking with the Engineer of Construction, other contract staff, facility staff, contractors, project design engineers, and client representatives both in person via two-way communications.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specs and prepare written contract administration documentation.
• Review plans for constructability and prepare comments.
• Ability to conduct preconstruction and construction progress meetings, coordinate multiple work locations, perform special inspection throughout the construction process, coordinate for quality assurance inspection of completed work.
• Coordinate contractors work with the Facility as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or University.
• Minimum 10 years of experience managing large construction work.
• Valid driver’s license required and ability to obtain a high SWAC clearance and SIDA badge.
• OSHA 30-hour certification required.
