Resident Assistant -- Part-Time Weekend Shifts

Safe Harbour seeks a Resident Assistant for weekend 2nd shift work from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. This position may earn additional hours working as a vacation substitute for various shifts.

A Resident Assistant works primarily at the Front Desk, answering telephones, monitoring video cameras, conducting building rounds to ensure the safety and security of residents and the facility, greeting and registering guests, and documenting circumstances and incidents during a work shift.

A Resident Assistant responds appropriately to emergencies, such as calling 9-1-1 for medical and fire emergencies, using fire extinguishers, ushering residents from the building, and providing Narcan if deemed necessary.

A Resident Assistant also may be asked to perform light cleaning duties as required including sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors in facility common areas and residential rooms, removing trash from facility common areas and residential rooms, performing laundry duties by using the organization’s laundry facility to wash and dry items, and performing other light cleaning duties such as washing walls, cleaning refrigerators, and changing protective coverings on mattresses and box springs. Additional cleaning duties may be assigned as needed.

A Resident Assistant must be able to perform physical tasks such as climbing several flights of stairs, lifting items weighing more than 50 pounds, and moving items to various locations within the organization’s facilities.

Flexible work hours are essential for vacation fill-in for full-time Front Desk staff and holiday shifts. Duties and responsibilities include answering telephone calls, writing reports, preparing for emergency assistance, and learning to operate fire alarm systems.

A high school diploma or GED certificate is required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
