SalaryPURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Overnight Residential Advisor will provide residential clients with supportive services in a positive and nurturing environment using an integrated, multidisciplinary team approach.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(Responsibilities to include but not limited to the following)
- Assist in the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of the clients' holistic plan
- Maintain documentation of clients' activities on the unit and during their residency with the Agency
- Monitor client activities to ensure a safe and secure environment and conduct room searches
- Provide group support services such as escorting clients to the cafeteria for meals, recreation, group therapy sessions and special activities
- Participate in team, case-management and staff meetings
- Generate a monthly report and contract documentation as needed by the case manager and social worker
- Conduct workshops on various life-skill issues, such as hygiene, anger management, self-esteem, and problem-solving
- Regular attendance and punctuality is essential to provide proper coverage of the unit

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Education & Experience
- High School/GED with 1 year of relevant work experience required. Bachelors Degree Preferred
- Experience working with at-risk youth strongly preferred.
- Drivers license preferred. Comfortability driving a 7-passenger van a plus.
Knowledge/Skills
- Excellent organizational skills to develop living situations for young adults.
- Ability to monitor and de-escalate in a crisis situation.
- Ability to follow instructions, prioritize assignments and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible work schedule to include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Schedule: 10:00 pm - 8:00 am
Salary range $37k -$40k
Compensation
Covenant House New York offers a rich package of benefits including but not limited to full medical, vision, dental, life, and short and long-term disability insurance and other fringe benefits. Eligibility for medical benefits begins on the date of hire. PTO includes 3 weeks of vacation in the first year, 10 holidays, 13 sick days, 5 personal days, and birthday days off.
