AddressConducts tests and procedures; sets up and operates equipment; records observations and measurements and collects and compiles data in a research lab; requires a practical understanding of a limited number of standard scientific techniques.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Follows pre-defined protocols, policies, procedure, regulations, Good Clinical and Good Laboratory Practices and conducts standard and repetitive experiments and completes basic trouble-shooting techniques.
- Sets-up, operates and maintains standard lab equipment.
Molecular Biology:
o DNA, RNA, Protein isolation, purification and expression Southern, Northern, Western blotting
o PCR, RT-PCR
o Plasmid preparation
o Cloning, mapping and sequencing of DNA Recombinant virus production and purification
Cellular Biology:
o Cell culture, cell isolation Functional studies Transfection
Histology:
o Tissue fixation/processing: embedding, preparation of blocks and sectioning, staining
o Immunohistochemistry
o Microscopy
Immunology:
o Flow cytometry ELISA, Elispot assay Cytokine assay
o Antibody production and purification
Animal:
o Husbandry
o Breeding and screening transgenic mice
o Dissections Blood collection
o Surgical procedures
o Database management of colony
- Records test results and may maintain databases.
- Completes standard and routine clerical duties such as copying, filing, data entry, word processing, etc.
- Maintains inventory of reagents, mice and lab supplies
Miscellaneous
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- HS diploma or equivalent and some basic science courses is required.
Target hiring range for this position will be between $16.55 to $23.28 per hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
